Description
Description
The DAF ETC3 Bench Cable provides a reliable, plug-and-play bench connection to the Delphi ETC3 engine control unit found across DAF CF and XF heavy-duty trucks, as well as Kenworth, Peterbilt, and select Hyundai truck platforms. Designed for professional tuning and remapping workshops, the cable eliminates the need for repeated connection to the OEM vehicle harness, protecting both the ECU connector and your tooling investment.
Key Features
- Plug-and-play bench connection — no soldering, no boot mode wiring required
- Protects OEM ECU connector pins from wear and damage caused by repeated mating cycles
- 1.5m cable length with 22AWG wire construction for clean signal integrity
- Every cable is individually tested for continuity and connection integrity before dispatch
- Built in the UK by CreativeOBD
Compatible Vehicles and ECU
This cable is designed for use with the Delphi ETC3 ECU. Supported vehicle applications include:
- DAF CF (approx. 2005–2017)
- DAF XF (approx. 2006–2017)
- Kenworth (Paccar-engined platforms with Delphi ETC3)
- Peterbilt (Paccar-engined platforms with Delphi ETC3)
- Hyundai heavy trucks (ETC3 variant)
Note: DAF ETC3 ECUs produced from approximately 2017 onward use the UDS communication protocol. Pre-2017 units use the KWP protocol. Confirm your ECU variant and tool compatibility before ordering.
Check your tool's vehicle coverage list to confirm support for your specific ECU hardware version and protocol.
Why Use a Bench Cable
Bench programming bypasses the OBD port entirely, giving the tuning tool direct access to the ECU's CAN bus outside the vehicle. This approach is more reliable for read and write operations, reduces the risk of interrupted flashes, and avoids placing voltage on vehicle wiring during the session. Using a dedicated bench cable rather than a fabricated connection also prevents pin damage on the ECU itself — a common cause of ECU failure during repeated programming.
Built and tested in the UK. All CreativeOBD cables undergo individual continuity and integrity testing before dispatch.
